Homemade Kodachrome Factory

Kodachrome

This DIY Kodachrome machine (the “Filminator”) was created to produce more film stock after the company discontinued productions. Michael, the creator, notes, “Plastic and goop go in one end, and camera film comes out the other end. This is not a trivial undertaking.”

The Impossible Project is a similar undertaking in concept, with the ceasing of Instant Film operations by Polaroid, the Impossible Project set about organising avid instant photographers and fans from around the world with the “concrete aim to re-invent and re-start production of analog INTEGRAL FILM for vintage Polaroid cameras.” – fortunately for us all their prayers were answered. As per a statement on their site, Polaroid will resume small scale production in light of the overwhelming support for the cause, even inviting The Impossible Project to the development table. Expect a Polaroid x Impossible Project collaboration mid 2010!
