Gayngs are very serious. Not really a super-group, more a super-crowd, with over two dozen member you would think this is The Polyphonic Spree Mach II. Far from it. Leaning more towards RnB and early electro (late 70s version), Gayngs have made a album that deserves your attention. Any album that combines Zack Coulter and Adam Hurlburt of Solid Gold, Micheal Lewis and Justin Vernon ala Bon Iver, suggests that. Masterminded through Ryan Olsen, it is amazing that there is cohesion and balance throughout the record but Olsen manages it and his personnel to perfection. Standout tracks on ‘Relayted’ include ‘The Gaudy side of Town’ and ‘Cry.’ Their video of Cry shows the amazing familiarities and differences in our faces. We are each alone in the composition of our faces.
